Craftsmanship and understanding the beauty of wood are at the heart of cabinetmaking. You will make individual items and built-in units, often working in small companies whose reputation has been carefully developed over many years.
Clients will expect the very highest standards of workmanship in both the interpretation and construction of designs. Cabinetmakers must be able to combine creativity and innovation with precision and accuracy and demonstrate a high level of personal responsibility and autonomy.
In an age of mass production and disposability, the cabinetmaker produces lasting work designed to be appreciated for many generations and by those who are prepared to pay for quality.
