Why is this skill important?
Where ever people live and work, electricians are needed. You can expect to work in homes, offices, factories and even farms, sometimes designing and installing new systems and at others, carrying out maintenance and repairs.
The electrician is expected to design and plan systems, then install them and make sure they are working properly. Often they will work as part of a bigger project both in homes or industry.
Other skills include diagnosing faults, understanding automated systems and knowing relevant industry standards. Given the risks associated with electricity, offering a safe and reliable service to customers is paramount.
