Why is this skill important?
Understanding fashion and fabrics are two of the core skills of fashion technology.
You will be expected to know how to source, buy and store raw materials, which are often expensive and delicate, and then translate designs into wearable clothes for any occasion.
A strong sense of fashion and appreciation of new trends is required, as is an understanding of design and function whether creating prototypes for mass production or unique bespoke garments for a single client.
