Why is this skill important?
Landscape gardeners can expect to work on everything from a city park to a country garden, but always with the aim of creating an oasis of green tranquility.
It means you will be involved in the project from the original concept and design to planting and landscaping the chosen space, which could be anywhere from a private home to playground, hotel or a public open space.
You will need creativity, an understanding of soil and weather conditions, of how plants and trees grow and mature and have an appreciation of the impact of a project on the existing natural environment and wildlife, regardless of whether it is in the inner city or the depths of the countryside.
