Why is this skill important?
Tiles can be made of ceramics, mosaic and natural stone. Likewise the environment in which they are used is equally diverse: walls, floors and staircases in houses, offices, gardens, factories, public buildings and places of worship.
That means you may be expected to work both inside and out, accurately following designs, preparing surfaces and laying tiles to the correct pattern and grouting to a high standard.
Tilers sometimes specialize in certain areas of artistic work, for example the complex designs seen in swimming pools.

The Challenge
Important elements of the challenge include:

The contestant will be tested on their ability to interpret and execute drawings.

Wall and floor tiles, stone and other materials should be laid out in the desired pattern.
